What to bring to your class?
Kneepads: Dance and flow classes might require kneepads, especially for floorwork. If you don’t have any, don’t worry – we sell some at the studio to keep you comfortable!
Heels: Heels are always a fun addition, whether you’re attending level classes or something casual like Exotic or Burlesque. That said, all our classes are non-heel friendly too, so feel free to keep your feet on solid ground if that’s more your vibe!
Water: Pole dancing is a workout (and then some!), so bring a water bottle and stay hydrated. You’ll thank yourself later!
Towel: A microfibre towel is handy for wiping down your pole at the end of class – and if you don’t have one, we’ve got you covered with towels at the studio. Since sweat happens (even with air conditioning), bringing a separate towel for yourself is also a great idea.
Hair Tie: Got long hair or a fringe that loves to get in your eyes? Bring something to tie it back – you’ll dance more freely without the distraction!
Pole Grip: If you’ve got your own pole grip, bring it along! But if you don’t, no stress – we’ve got a variety of grip aids available at the studio for when you need them. As a beginner, you probably won’t need any right away, so relax and focus on having fun!
What do I wear?
If you’re joining your first-ever class, we recommend wearing activewear and comfortable shorts that you feel good in! Regular leggings (unless they’re special sticky pole leggings) aren’t ideal for pole dancing since they can make gripping the pole tricky. As you continue your pole journey, you’ll start using different body parts for grip, and you’ll likely find a crop top or sports bra paired with pole shorts becoming your go-to outfit.
The best part about pole dance – and GC Polefit – is that you can wear whatever makes you feel amazing! Our instructors are here to support you, whether that’s helping you grow your confidence or adjusting class choreography to suit your outfit and style.
